Benefits and social support

Statutory guarantees and support for different student categories.

State guarantees, quotas, and preferential admission are governed by Ukrainian Law «On Higher Education» plus Cabinet and Ministry regulations. KhNPU applies quota 1 (separate budget seats for legally defined benefit groups) and quota 2 (including internally displaced persons, combat veterans, and applicants from temporarily occupied territories). Document checklists, verification, and admission priorities are listed in KhNPU «Rules of admission… 2026» and clarified by the Admissions committee (contacts on this site's Contacts page).

Benefit categories

Orphans and children deprived of parental care

Verified status typically enables competition on quota‑1 budget seats with continued social protections after matriculation.

Large families

Eligibility for state support and social benefits follows national law; the university advises on scholarships and dormitory access once supporting documents are filed.

Persons with disabilities

Students with disabilities (Groups I–II) and learners with special educational needs may compete under quota‑1 where medical and psycho-pedagogical documentation supports the request.

War-affected applicants

Internally displaced persons and related war‑affected categories use quota‑2 together with special procedures for temporarily occupied territories (interviews, Donbas-Ukraine / Crimea-Ukraine education centre support) per Rules and MES notices.

Low-income households

Social scholarships depend on official income and household composition certificates processed through the social office after enrolment.

Academic achievement

Strong NMT results and competition scores improve budget chances; additional academic scholarships follow collective agreements and university regulations.
