Про що проєкт
The PERFECT project concept emerged in 2023 as a response to the growing need for effective English-language training in educating nurses. The idea originated from classroom experience and discussions among educators and healthcare professionals who observed that both students and practicing nurses often lack sufficient language competence to communicate confidently with international patients, colleagues, and Erasmus+ students. The project aims to bridge this gap through an innovative, collaborative approach that combines linguistic, professional, and digital learning.
The rationale behind the project lies in improving the professionalism, employability, and intercultural readiness of future and current healthcare workers. It will strengthen the didactic competence of university teachers, enhance the communication skills of nurses, and create sustainable tools for language and professional development including the upgrade of communicative skills of in-service nurses.
The project will develop an innovative English interactive course for Nursing and Healthcare, integrating the best practices in CLIL methodology, student-centred learning, and interactive digital tools. It will produce an interactive book English for Nursing and Healthcare, designed for classroom use and self-paced study, and will offer professional training for nurses to help them overcome language barriers and engage in empathic patient-centred communication. The Project objectives include enhancing teaching quality in higher education, improving pre- and in-service nurses’ English proficiency and communication, promoting their digital readiness and lifelong learning.
The identified project target groups include University students who will have better job training opportunities in the universities of their choice (nursing students, doctor students, and teacher students per year), University teachers of English who will design course and materials for their students, school teachers who will attend seminars; in-service nurses who will attend blended learning course; as well as nurses, teachers of English, and students who will use the interactive book or read academic articles.
