The award of the Candidate of Sciences degree is governed by the Cabinet of Ministers resolution «Certain issues of awarding (revoking) academic degrees». Candidates whose studies began before 1 September 2016 are assessed by specialised academic councils formed under that procedure, and the diploma is issued by the Ministry of Education and Science.
